School Social Worker

School Social Work clinicians will provide site-based behavioral and mental health services to schools (private, charter, and public schools) in the Mid-South. School social work programming is a mutli-systemic model that provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions within each system (school, home, and community). As a school social worker you will work closely with the school staff, with the student/ client (individual and group therapy), and with the student's family. You will use knowledge and have understanding of Response to Intervention (RtI) processes, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), data collection practices and analysis, and have an understanding of evidence-based assessments and interventions in the field of school social work. School social work clinicians will gather client information through a comprehensive psychosocial assessment process gathered within an S-Team/ 504/ IEP meeting, will utilize multiple assessments, use the assessments to drive programming, gather data on effectiveness of interventions, and will provide teacher coaching and professional development to improve both educational and behavioral outcomes. A Licensure in School Social Work in the State of TN is preferred (BA and/ or MSW).

Licensed Clinical/ Masters Social Worker

Licensed Masters/ Clinical Social Workers will provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy in a variety of settings. The Masters/ Clinical social worker will provide evidence-based programming and support the client through the use of best practices in social work. Services will be delivered in clinic, in-home, in primary care offices, through Equine programming, in home health care programming, and in schools. The Masters/ Clinical Social Worker must have a Masters Degree in Social Work and be currently Licensed in TN, AR, and MS will be required (BSMS offers services in TN, AR, and MS). Clinicians that have an LMSW will be expected to work towards their LCSW in the state in which they provide direct services. Supervision for this purpose will be offered to current employees free of charge by BSMS staff.

Behavior Analyst

Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA's) work with teachers, parents, and students to identify behaviors that are preventing the student from achieving success at school.  Using behaviorism and applied behavior analysis, the BCBA will develop behavior intervention plans designed to shape behaviors and improve student outcomes.  

 Behavior analysis is a unique method of treatment based on the idea that most important human behavior is learned over time and that it is maintained by consequences within the environment. As a behavior analyst, one must seek to identify problematic behavior and develop a positive replacement. With the input of teachers, family and aides, the Behavior Analyst will help you discover what is maintaining a specified behavior, discover more appropriate replacement behaviors, and set up a plan to teach them. Behavior Analysts also develop a plan to help you acquire a new behavior or improve a skill level. At times, Behavior Analysts treat the client directly and other times may be training significant others (i.e. teachers, family members, etc.).

Behavior analysts (BAs) do not make judgments about behavior. They seek to understand behavior as an adaptive response (or way of coping) and suggest ways of adjusting and modifying behaviors to reduce pain and suffering and to increase personal happiness and quality of life.

School Psychologist

School Psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.

Behavioral Specialists/ Technicians/ Clinicians

Behavior clinicians assist clients with behavioral, mental, and educational disorders. Behavior Clinicians use company approved assessment procedures to identify appropriate diagnosis, work with your clients to understand their diagnosis through psycho-education, identify areas targeted for change, create appropriate goals and objectives to gauge clients progress, use effective evidence-based interventions and programming to support the client, work in a multi-systemic model, collect and analyze daily data to make informed decisions about the client’s needs all in order to ensure successful outcomes.

Behavior Clinicians are trained on the assessment procedures, company protocol, systems approach to behavioral therapy, crisis intervention procedures, and effective evidence-based interventions that will be used in the daily programming with clients.

Behavior Clinicians will use evidence-based therapeutic techniques that will include aspects and principles of Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and educational techniques proven to be effective in remediating education, behavioral, and social-emotional deficits/ excesses.

Behavior Clinicians will provide training to others including but not limited to other clinicians, parents, teachers/ educators, educational staff, and other individuals in need of training to understand the importance of behavioral programming on the educational and psychological needs of the client.

Behavior Clinicians will provide services in multiple settings in order to ensure accurate assessments, effective intervention implementation, to monitor fidelity of interventions rendered, and to assist in skill generalization and maintenance of skill acquisition. The settings in which you will work include but are not limited to the following: client homes, schools, in office, and in the community. Behavior Specialist/ Clinicians must have a BA in a social science and must have experience working with children, adolescents, families, groups, and adults.

Social Work, Counseling, and Psychology Interns

Behavior Services of the Mid-South LLC hosts social work, counseling, and psychology interns. Interns will learn best-practices in the field of behavioral and mental health through observation, direct instruction, and experiential programming. Student interns will be paired with licensed clinicians in the schools, in-home, in clinic, and in the community. Interns will be expected to observe and learn from their field/ practicum supervisor with the understanding, that once comfortable and trained, will carry a client caseload which will include assessment, intervention, diagnosis (under supervision), and treatment plan writing. Other internship may be offered and can be discussed (computer programming, marketing, etc.
